INTERNATIONAL USABILITY TESTING
Test with Users is an observation method, which consists in examining the real problems that the user may run into while using a particular product or website. The research procedure lies in completing real tasks (scenarios) by the users. The whole procedure is observed and recorded, thanks to which the moderator may identify when and where the key errors are being made.
Why is it worth using the method?
The research allows for objective analysis of how Your product is used and perceived in the real life and how much it often differs from Your point of view (expectations). Data established on the basis of tests provide knowledge about consumers’ behaviour and help to compare You with the competition.
How does UseLab do that?
The research, like all quality researches conducted by UseLab, is done in Warsaw, in the Usability Laboratory. The researches are conducted in sterile, identical conditions, by psychologists educated in the field of Social Psychology of Internet and Communication.
The researched person has 5-7 scenarios per site to complete, and the whole procedure is moderated by the researcher. After the session the researched person fills in a questionnaire concerning satisfaction of website use. The observation analysis tests the accomplishment of tasks per site, the critical and difficult positions are proved, as well as the positions that require additional instructions and positions incomprehensible for the users. In the framework of conclusions we conduct effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction of use analysis.
After the completed research the quality analysis of research material is conducted from the point of view of requirements arising out of ISO/IEC 25062:2006 according to which the usability of a website is estimated on the three levels:
- Effectiveness (among others: the degree of goals attaining)
- Efficiency (among others: time of goals attaining)
- Satisfaction (the degree of user’s satisfaction)
On what platforms is the method used?
We administer specialist software which enables research conducting on various platforms:
- WWW – transactional, product, information, community portals
- Mobile
- Lo-fi, Hi-fi prototypes (HTML, Axure Pro, MS Viso, Flash)
