EXPERT REVIEW - USABILITY & ACCESSIBILITY AUDIT
Expert analysis is a fast method of testing the product, it allows for diagnosis of most errors to be found on a website. Our experts will estimate Your product - they will analyse:
- Navigation
- Ease of finding information
- Use of the website functions.
In order to test a website from the point of view of ergonomics and accordance with international standards and legal requirements we recommend expert audit. In this method the researched website is subjected to expert evaluation by 2 independent usability auditors. The team carries out the inspection of particular website elements in relation to accordance with usability standards, but also in relation to aesthetic and graphic look.
The conducted accessibility audits estimate adjustment of the product to disabled persons and various technological platforms.
Analyses are conducted in accordance with guidelines of Web Accessibility Initiative. The result of a test/ audit is the assignment of the website to one of 4 categories : lack of compatibility with the guidelines, 3A (full compatibility), 2A (medium compatibility), 1A (minimal compatibility).
Why is it worth using Expert audit and accessibility audit?
Expert audit is a fast method; the report of the research is usually delivered to the customer within one week. It indicates possible "set-backs" of the researched website and recommendation of its improvement.
Accessibility audits allow for verification of the technological quality of the code, which influences the increase of consumers group, including disabled persons that constitute 15% of the population in Europe.
In some countries it is becoming a legal requirement for information products to meet at least a basic standard of product accessibility.
How does UseLab do that?
For our estimation is based on the guidelines included in International Standards (e.g. EN ISO 9241-110 and EN ISO 9241-12), you may be sure that the problems we find are real, and all opinions particular, reliable and directed at finding solutions.
As a result of the analysis, a report concerning the website analysis is prepared including:
- The list of errors together with determination of their significance and recommendation of changes in the fields such as:
- Ease of navigation;
- Ease of finding information;
- Texts readability;
- The effectiveness of finding information and readability of search results;
- Website credibility;
- Multimedia and documents presentation;
- Estimation of graphics and aesthetics of the website;
- Heuristic analysis (e.g. the way of login and other basic usability scenarios);
- Substantial and functional contents of the website;
- Range of offered services;
- Estimation of website usability from the point of view of web usability standards;
- Good and bad practices;
- Proposals of change/ development strategy for the website or its particular elements;
- The report is drawn up as a .ppt document and its content will be shown during direct presentation ( workshop - up to 4 hours), during which further steps of the website improvement will be determined.
Our reports are drawn up as .ppt documents and their content is shown during direct presentation (workshop - up to 4 hours). During the meeting further steps of product improvement are determined.
In the case of accessibility audits we provide the accessibility level of the product and present full lists naming all the errors or oversights in code construction of the website. We also conduct analysis of colour identification in the context of diseases connected with colour blindness.
